Rental Arrears Assistance Eligibility Criteria
Security Deposit Assistance Eligibility Criteria
  • You must be a current resident of Monmouth County and live at the dwelling you’re seeking back-rent assistance for.
  • You must earn less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines (click here for guidelines).
  • Your household must have experienced a documented financial hardship which caused the rental arrears
  • You must demonstrate budgetary sustainability to one of our financial counselors.
  • You are not eligible if you do not have a source of income.
  • You are not eligible if you’ve received assistance from the AHA within the last 24 months.
  • You are not eligible if you owe more than $6000, unless you can provide verified funding to make up the difference.
  • If your full application is approved, the assistance payment will be provided directly to your landlord or property manager.
  • The rental address must be in Monmouth County 
  • You must already have the rental property secured.
  • You must earn less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines (click here for guidelines).
  • You are not eligible if you’ve received assistance from the AHA within the last 24 months
  • You are not eligible if you do not have a source of income to pay your rent once you move in.
  • You are not eligible if you owe more than $6000, unless you can provide verified funding to make up the difference
  • If your full application is approved, the assistance payment will be provided directly to your landlord or property manager.
