Description

You MUST be a current Monmouth County resident and earn less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines (click here for guidelines). Please review the additional eligibility requirements mentioned below. If you you meet all requirements, please click apply and respond to the prescreen questions. If you are eligible for the full application process you will receive a link for that in an email. If your full application is approved, the assistance payment will be provided directly to your mortgage/loan company.

Mortgage Arrears/Property Tax/HOA Fee Assistance Eligibility Criteria
  • You must be a current resident of Monmouth County and live at the dwelling you’re seeking past-due mortgage assistance for.
  • You must earn less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines (click here for guidelines).
  • Your name must be on the mortgage.
  • You must be able to provide your current mortgage statement.
  • You must demonstrate budgetary sustainability to one of our financial counselors.
  • You are not eligible if you are already in foreclosure. (Consider our Foreclosure Prevention Counseling as an alternative.)
  • You are not eligible if you do not have any source of income.
  • You are not eligible if you’ve received assistance from the AHA within the last 24 months.
  • You are not eligible if you owe more than $6000, unless you can provide verified funding to make up the difference.
